History

Johnny Orsi originally used the van to sell ice cream to the people of Leigh and District between 1952 and 1980. The van was then bought by Tony Frederici, owner of Frederick's dairies. The Frederici family business started in Italy in 1886 and moved to Chorley in the early 1900's.

The frame of the vehicle is made from very durable Brazilian mahogany. The freezer is a modern addition - originallly the ice cream was kept cold by large blocks of ice.
