History
The light chassis and simple layout met the needs of the NHS at a relatively low cost. The chassis was based on the LDM30 1.50 ton van. The suspension and rear axle were modfied to suit the standard chassis for ambulance work . This vehicle was used as the works ambulance at the MG car factory in Abingdon, and later at the Morris works, Cowley. Many LD's that started out in life as ambulances were later converted into campervans.
